Hey everyone. I think this works by posting in the "quick reply" section. I think that's the only way to respond, you have to go through and read peoples response this way. I lost my father, it was 6 years ago now. I had a "grief attack" last night and woke up still really sad. I wish I could get rid of this feeling. My boyfriend is very supportive but he has both his parents so he does not fully understand what it is like. I am one of the only people I know who has lost a parent and I find it hard to connect with people because of this. I lots him a long time ago but I was in my late teens. With COVID 19 happening no one is really opened to talk. How is everyone else dealing with their loss? Especially during COVID.

Hi. I don't know how this works but I just needed to talk to people who understood where I'm coming from. I lost my dad suddenly yesterday. He was the life of every room he walked in to. He's my hero and I don't know what to do now. I'm only 20 and I wasn't ready. My grandma (his mom) is beside herself and I can't get her screaming for her baby boy out of my head. I'm lost. He was always my rock and I don't know what my life will be without him in it.

Hi Bay. I'm so sorry for your loss. I relate to you a lot. I lost my hero, my dad suddenly in 2012. I couldn't make sense of anything. Let's imagine that I'm you ten years down the line talking to you about how your dad is super proud of you for coping with his death each day, that it hurt like hell but you were going to be okay. There aren't any magic words anyone can say to help ease the pain. I wish there were but I'm sending love and light to you and your grandma. If you want to hear how I dealt with the sudden death of my dad who was also my hero, here's a podcast that talks about just that. I hope it helps you navigate this confusing and difficult time. anchor.fm/jamie500/episodes/Crashed-elque1

Teeπ I can hear the emptiness in your posting. First holidays are the worst and trying to navigate grief by yourself is something I'm all too familiar with. I came on this forum to help people feel less alone and let them know there's light at the end of the tunnel. Losing my dad was the hardest thing I've had to experience. You weren't there at the cemetery alone. He was there with you. I believe that. Here, check out my podcast about when I lost my dad in a plane crash. I'm hoping it helps. I'll try to make one about first holidays without our dads. Anyway, I hope you get something from my storyπhttps://anchor.fm/jamie500/episodes/Crashed-elque1
